California farmers and specialty food purveyors come together each Saturday, rain or shine, to bring you the finest in fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, including organic, baked goods, flowers, herbs, cheeses, and prepared foods.  The Market offers patrons a chance to come face to face with their food source. An abundance of free parking is available.

How to apply for space
at the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market


All products must be grown or raised in California.  We only consider vendors who are PRODUCERS of the agricultural products (fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, honey, cut flowers, beef, poultry, eggs and dairy) they wish to sell.  Additionally the PRODUCER must be certified by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and have a current Certified Producers Certificate (CPC). Farmers pay 7% of his/her sales in stall fees.


Musical entertainment is welcomed at the market and will be scheduled by the Market Manager.  Performed are not paid but can collect tips and sell CD’s.  If interested in performing at the market, please complete the Entertainment Application Mail applications to: Old Town Newhall Farmers Market P.O. Prepared and processed foods are accepted into the market.  Prepared foods include foods prepared on site for consumption such as tamales, popcorn, tacos, chicken, crepes, etc.  Processed foods are prepared off site and are typically packaged and brought to the market for sale.  These foods include breads, granola, oils, vinegars, fresh juice, etc.  Additionally, processed foods must be prepared in a commercial kitchen or by a Cottage Food Operator.  Each vendor must supply liability insurance and a health permit. The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market Annex (“Market Annex”) is a Market-adjacent circumscribed area in which certain types of products may be sold or offered for sale.  In addition, the Market Annex may be used by nonprofit entities for limited public health activities.  The exclusive purpose of the Market Annex is to provide a venue for limited activities conducted by community groups, health organizations and local businesses. Story time in the Buckaroo Corral

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – The Children’s Team from the Old Town Newhall Library will be reading stories on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market.

Nutrition Assistance Programs

WIC Fruit and Vegetable Checks now accepted year-round at the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market for the purchase of fresh and dried fruit and vegetables every week!  The market also accepts CalFresh (formerly SNAP, aka Food Stamps).  Use your Golden State Advantage EBT Card to access your CalFresh benefits!  It is quick and easy! Simply visit the information booth and slide your card through the point-of-sale device. Once approved, you will be issued scrip which may be spent with any farmer at the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market.

Farmers Market Nutrition Program Women, Infants & Children (WIC) In addition to accepting CalFresh benefits year round, the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market accepts seasonal Farmers Market Nutrition Program WIC coupons.  Bring your Farmers Market Nutrition Program WIC coupons to the market and purchase directly from a farmer. Each eligible family receives a total of $20 in vouchers to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs during the season, from May through November. These fresh fruits and vegetables are an additional source of fiber, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, and iron, nutrients that are important to the health of pregnant women and their children.

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) SFMNP is a seasonal assistance program aimed at increasing accessibility and consumption of fresh produce by low-income seniors. In California, the SFMNP begins in May and runs through the end of November. Seniors redeem the checks for fresh, nutritious, unprepared, and locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs from farmers directly.

Market Match In the Market Match program people who receive CalFresh (food stamps) WIC, including FVC coupons, and SSI recipients will receive $20 in vouchers weekly (while supplies last) at the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market. Vouchers can only be used on fresh fruits and vegetables from certified growers.  Customers, who wish to join the program, should inquire at the market Information Booth.
